Early Life:

Sumi Borah was born on 9 August 1993 to Phula Borah and Radha Borah at Banipur, Dibrugarh. She has a brother ‘Rajeev Borah’. Sumi Borah age is 26 years. She studied at Little Flower High Secondary School, Dibrugarh till class 12. She passed her HSLC and HS from the same school.

Sumi Borah has been dancing Bihu and Sattriya from the age of 3 years. She first learnt Sattriya Nritya (Dance) under the guidance of Guru Ruplekha Borbora Das in Chaulkhowa Music College, Dibrugarh. Then she wanted to pursue dancing as a profession so she took admission in Performing Arts at Dibrugarh University. She completed her graduation and masters degree in Sattriya dance from Dibrugarh University in 2018. She took a break from her studies in 2019-20. Then she will again pursue PhD and M.Phil in Performing Arts from 2021.

Sumi Borah was a dance teacher at Chaulkhuwa Music College for about 9 years. She was also doing a job in Siksha Valley School, Dibrugarh. After that, she was also doing jobs at Nurture International School, Dibrugarh and Art and Style Academy. She owns a Dance academy ‘Sumi Nrityalaya’ in Dibrugarh. She is also a makeup artist.

Now she is dancing cover songs on youtube. Her first dance cover was on Assamese Song ‘Lorioli’ and second was ‘Serek Serek’. Serek Serek was a very big hit and it was also a major breakthrough. Now she is a very popular Assamese cover dancer. Nowadays Sumi Borah is choreographing and also appear in official Assamese Music videos. Her first debut official Assamese music video was ‘Parijat’ by Dikshu.
